Hi, I’m D’Erica Blackmon- LMSW

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, workplace burnout, life transitions, relationship concerns, and family conflict. I am especially passionate about supporting women and individuals from culturally diverse and historically underserved communities.

My background includes outpatient therapy, medical social work, correctional mental health, substance use treatment, and 12 years in education. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems-informed interventions. I tailor treatment to each client’s needs rather than relying on a one size fits all approach.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and honest. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. My “why” is rooted in the belief that people should not have to navigate life’s most difficult experiences alone. I consider it a privilege to help clients recognize their strengths, develop practical coping skills, heal from painful experiences, and move toward lives that feel healthier, more balanced, and more authentic.
